2020 has seen many changes and many events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Added to lockdown, this has seen many members of our community feeling increasingly isolated, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.
The festive switch on event for Newark's Christmas lights had to be a little different this year too. Following the cancellation of the town centre event, Newark Town Council were not going to be beaten. Teaming up with Newark and Sherwood District Council, Radio Newark and the Palace Theatre a virtual event replaced the more traditional live concert.
The event was supported by many but the children and staff of Barnby Road Academy made a special effort to remind us all of more normal times. We wanted to say thank you so have dispatched some treat for the staff and some craft materials for the students. Best wishes to you all!
